Back in Business!

I got the internet back on at my house, I got new rechargeable batteries for my camera and I just finished writing my guest blog for @lissarankin's website, www.owningpink.com . Stay tuned for when that is posted, I'm super excited that I was even considered to write for her!

I've had a lot of things on my plate lately, who I am kidding, it's not just lately, it's all the time! I manage to find my joy in all of it. Today I was going over some bills and how much debt I am in, which isn't really that much considering the rest of America! But still, it is weight on my shoulders that I don't really care to have. I signed up with one of those financial companies a few months ago that help settle your debt, so that is under way. Not to mention my student loans and regular monthly bills. In January, Brawn and I were planning on buying a house from one of our friends. But the more I thought about it while going through the bills the more of a bad idea it seemed to be. Maybe not so much a bad idea, but a smarter idea to stay where we are.

Ever since I moved out of my parents house in 2006, I have been bouncing all over the place. In fact, I have never stayed in place for more than 11 months. The thought of staying in our apartment, made me more excited than the thought of moving into the house. I think that might be a sign. Now I just need to talk it over with Brawn Brawn. He is usually okay with whatever I think is best. But when he doesn't, he speaks up. I love him :) .

I really just want to do what is best for our future and right now we are comfortable. I think I should take advantage of our abundance and use to to get rid of our debt, and then we can work on saving for a house.

What do you think?

The Ripple Effect

I am always hesitant to post a new blog when I don't have new pictures to go with it, but my camera has been inoperable for the last couple weeks. I decided that putting off my blog due to my camera was not worth the anguish any longer!

I can't seem to get over the amazement of how much we all affect one another, mostly without making a conscience effort to. I use to work in a local bar here in Ennis called "The Wooden Nickel." It was the first job I came across sense I moved back to the Dallas area from Austin. There are so many of the "regulars" that LOVE me. They say I am a ray of sunshine. Not only do I love hearing that, but I love providing something enlightening in their day.

It is important for us to keep in mind that whether we realize it or not, each person we come into contact with on a daily basis is effected by our actions, words and attitude. Be someone that people miss when you are not around. Take a stand for your true self and live life to the fullest!

My Joy Journal

With much inspiration and enlightenment from @lissarankin, I decided to take it upon myself to create my very own "Joy Journal"

Her website entitled Owning Pink is something every woman should take part in. Reading her blog posts always leaves me feeling refreshed and craving to get in touch with the inner, authentic me.

Please make reading Owning Pink part of your daily routine. You won't regret it! http://www.owningpink.com/

Creating a Joy Journal has opened up a new window in my life. I have always wrote and kept journals. But starting this one was different. It had a set purpose and guidelines. I have found myself inspired and moved time after time. Everyday I write something new. My Joy Journal has also allowed me to take responsibility for my health and well being. Which, I believe is the first step in getting there. My Journal allows me to be present to the everyday miracles that occur in my life and I have made it a point to end my evening taking just 10 minutes to myself, I sit outside on my balcony and ask myself those three questions; What 3 things did I appreciate today? How did I own Pink today? And what inspired me today? They really do put things into perspective for you.

I also take this time to visualize the things I desire in life. What I want for my future, how they make me feel and I allow the expression on my face to correspond with the emotion. It has been my experience, that doing these things allows what your truly want to come into play and much faster than would otherwise. Just ask @mikedooley and @andydooley!

Dance like no one is watching, love like you can't get hurt and laugh often.

Make your journey one that counts!
